SMD lets you design, simulate, and analyze space missions entirely in your browser. In the scenario tab, start by creating the satellites, add ground stations, run access analysis. For a subsystem design, model your satellite, then dive into power, data, and link budgets. Iterate fast and have fun.

Quick start

  1. Create a scenario — define the mission timeline, then add satellites (import from TLE/OMM or design from orbital elements). See Satellites.
  2. Add ground stations — place stations by lat/lon/altitude with an elevation mask. See Ground Stations.
  3. Run access analysis — get visibility windows between your satellite and ground stations. See Access.
  4. Design the satellite model — configure bus faces, solar panels, and deployables. See Model.
  5. Analyze power, data, and links — run budget computations to verify your mission design. See Power, Data, and Link.
